New project this spring that is up and running–an elevated vegetable garden table planter! After a good amount of research, I found this awesome mom-and-pop company in Cali, called Mini Farm Box, that makes all kinds of planters using cedar. It was exactly what I was looking for…perfectly sized for urban homes where you have… Read more »
I could eat dumplings for every meal for the rest of my life, and I think I wouldn’t have one complaint. But sometimes unless your fried dumplings have that delicious crispage underneath (you know what I mean), you’re kind of being cheated of the full deliciousness.
I get occasional hints at work and shopping g-friends that I tend to buy the same version of whatever dress or shirt or skirts that I already have. My response is always, “Well it’s because I know what will work and what won’t for my shape and height!” That said, they have a point…
It’s become a half-facetious project of mine to figure out what might qualify as “elegant loungewear” to wear around the house…

If you thought McCain won the debate yesterday I have news for you. You’re NUTS! Check it out, DEVO’s gone back to their hometown of Akron, OH, to give back to the community — by promoting Obama. Even the office admin people are getting into this. Check out these coffee pods. Word is that Obama’s carton already had to be refilled… Not many takers on McCain apparently.
McCain Gets Flak For Being Old, Short & Mean
Look at Slate.com‘s headline and the accompanying picture: I watched the debate by myself, so I had a field day this morning reading what people’s reactions were. Apparently it was a snoozer and McCain came across like an old man, stiff in the limbs and awkward, while Obama was graceful and fluid, according to media… Read more »
SPX Convention in Bethesda, MD
The Small Press Expo was fantastically cool. Lots of punk, subversive text and graphics, and a lot of people wearing black. Of course, then I walked in carrying a Starbucks cup with its glowing green straw :O The whole graphic novel and comics scene is kind of foreign to me, but the self-publishing, DIY zine,… Read more »
Crafty Bastards Sept. 2008!
I have some time on my hands, so here are some long overdue photos of things I’ve hyped recently. Crafty Bastards was a blast… no surprise there. I woke up around 6am, a smidge glum from the darkness outside. But once there, it was all excitement. Art and artists everywhere hauling their goods, my coworkers… Read more »

'Palin Delivers.' Really though?
i can’t wait to realize that this nightmare of an election is just one big social experiment to see if an American democracy can put a vapid robot in office. I thought Biden took over the election with his debate performance, hands down. I felt exhilarated. And yet the post-debate recaps on the Post are… Read more »
