…And it’s official! We’ll be setting up shop again at the Washington City Paper‘s famed Crafty Bastards festival in October this year. Last year’s show was a bowl of fun and a resounding success! But we’ve come to expect nothing less from the organizers behind this festival who seem to have craft-festival-curating down to a T : )
… A few changes for us this year though — don’t worry, we’ll still have all the imoM favorites (dad’s artwork on cards, prints and jewelry)! But we’ve decided to go by the umbrella moniker Mousybabe from now on, and to keep imoM as one line of goodies that we sell within Mousybabe.
So for the yet uninitiated, Crafty Bastards is an annual smorgasborg full of quirky, adorable, often offbeat handmade crafts, made with love by some 150 independent artists. Together we hawk our eclectic wares outdoors, in a large vacant lot in Adams Morgan. And to round out craft fever, there is always a robust selection of food vendors and entertainment, including b-boy battles, belly dancers and music.
This year, we’re really excited to debut some new goodies which we’re furiously working to have ready by Oct. 1. Not least of which are antique bronze and pewter necklace pendants featuring pops’s famed art! Shabby chic wine charm sets for your dinner-hosting pleasure! Handsewn tote bags (see right for one of suzi q’s recent creations)! and more! The goal is to also make these available on our fledgling Mousybabe Etsy shop. In the meantime, check out the prints and cards we’re selling in our imoM etsy shop. But note also that everything in the imoM Etsy shop will soon be migrated over to the Mousybabe shop.
We’ll be posting more on our progress until Crafty Bastards, but come d-day, do come say hello to us at our booth! If you want to make us really happy, you’ll buy something from our display (Saturday, Oct. 1, 10am-5pm, 18th & Wyoming at the Marie Reed Learning Center)
October 1st can’t come too soon. Thanks so much, CraftyBastards! We <3 you…
