As avid seekers of yummy eats, we’ve started cataloguing our food posts into a little series called Food Finds. These posts include casual reviews of the unsung culinary gems we encounter on the road–or even right here at home in DC and NY
Started off Day 1 at Austin City Limits Festival with a visit to Moonshine Grill for some good old fashioned comfort grub. As with most of our travel eats, this was a Yelp brunch find.
Saving my tummy for the street eats at Zilker Park over the next couple days, I resigned myself to a light but yummy Waldorf salad with apples, grapes and specks of sugar pecans. But Sven took the no holds bar approach: 24-hr smoked bourbon pork chop topped with sweet candied apples and a side of cinnamon, brown sugar-glazed yams. Loved the aluminum bucket of buttered chile popcorn and basket of jalapeño mini corn muffins, both of which were on the house.
Tomorrow, looking forward to revisiting Lambert’s for brunch after a Friday filled with Tegan & Sara and Florence and the Machine — hope Lambert’s is as delectable at it’s been in our memories for the last 5 years!
